Imagine someone telling you “I don’t love you; I respect you, admire you, care for you and trust you. Will you marry me?”
All of these feelings are some of the fundaments for a marriage agreement. There are people comfortable with an arranged marriage, and people that want it all – meaning, fire and passion with it. I would say respect, admiration, caring and trust are Love as well, and although they hold no passion, surely, they will be the grounds for a solid and long-lasting marriage.
But, maybe, long-lasting marriages in fact can’t endure passion, once it ends together with the marriage.
So, I guess, it will depend upon your personality, and which components you wish for a marriage life. Or you may come to conclude that what you wish is not what you need to be happy and feel peace.
We can love without the fire because the fire is within love.
