In a study carried out at the University of California in the USA, it was proven that the brain area of the right ventro-lateral prefrontal cortex, which is hidden just behind the eyes, is activated when we talk and write about emotions and that this has a therapeutic effect. You know that “lump in the throat” feeling when “emotions are stuck”? That discomfort reduces as you talk about the emotions you feel, or write about those emotions. Writing as an agent of emotional therapy and well-being.
And by releasing what blocks us, through writing, we are deconstructing the emotion and getting in touch with our inner selves; we unblock, energies flow and creation restarts. That’s why I say that writing transforms.
It transforms the imprisoned being into the Conscious and Creative Being.
